DREAMS IN A BASKET

Life is not vin-ordinare;
Query the obscure mystique.
Finding something to declare -
Golden Fortunes still to seek.
Searching for the source unique,
Trying to find the master-key
To goals of one who cannot speak
Dreams in a basket set to sea.
To search, to find, compare -
Like a child's game of hide and seek.
Pondering memories so oblique
That senses steam with mystery;
But, with a final push and a tweak,
Dreams in a basket set to sea.
Always seeking an elsewhere,
never chancing to be a relique,
Golden fortunes still to seek.
Now my boat has sprung a leak -
No damage to my fantasy
But alas, with one last shriek,
Dreams in a basket set to sea.
The winds are at their peak;
Golden fortunes still to seek,
Ending my days of curiosity;
Dreams in a basket set to sea.

NATURE'S EXILES
A world of shadows deep within my soul,
Fears of sights that never reached my eyes
Claim recollection of both part and whole.
This past life in hand, my mind denies
Injustices of mankind's courage
To outcast, those whose handicaps
Hold them fast to claims of alien-age.
As tides recede changes will come, perhaps.
Man has not learned the sympathies of One
Who brought us to life with love and passion
For unto us our sight is paragon
While dreams so soundlessly turn ashen.
Find nourishment from these as from a fountain.

SEA-BORN
SAILING SETS A MAN FREE;  HIS FIRST LOVE -
Scanning the horizon for a glimpse of shore
To see nothing but a sea dove.
Sailing -
His last gain nothing to live for;
Hopes forsaken to eternity and above.
He challenges the sea his life to adore.
to fly on to lands never seen before,
His mind at ease with no glimpse of shore,
Sailing.

A MIRROR
Some other place
some other time
life's sand slips through
someone's hand;
inconceivable
to this mind at least;
a source, a force;
a spirit in time.

IRELAND
The beauty of your land
Flows deep within my blood;
Your castles are fortresses
In my soul.
A land where leprechauns
Sweeten the air with fragrances
From their rainbows.
